I have been "practicing" the art of photography for
many years in my hometown of Raleigh. I particularly
enjoy shooting live events -- attempting to capture the
magic and excitement as it is happening. After my
retirement, photography became my second career. Initially, I studied with several leading photographers in Raleigh. My work included shooting dress rehearsals of The Carolina Ballet; studying low light photography with shoots at the NC State Fair; and working on candid portrait shots at such local events as Arts Space. My work has been published in The News & Observer, Walter Magazine, and numerous papers in Western North Carolina. In addition, one of my photographs was recognized by Micato Safaris. My work has been featured in Colonial Williamsburg's Making History Blog.
